These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Werf ("Werf", "we", "us", or "our"), a web-based software application for generating and managing one-page websites.
By accessing or using Werf, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About Werf
Werf is operated as a remote / online business based in South Africa. Werf is not currently a registered legal entity.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Werf.
By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. Accounts
To use Werf, you must create an account using:
- Email and password, or
- Google OAuth authentication
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Use of the Service
Werf allows users to generate, edit, and publish one-page websites.
You agree not to use Werf to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Distribute malware or harmful code
- Generate or host unlawful, abusive, or deceptive content
We may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of the content you generate or upload using Werf.
By using the service, you grant Werf a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the service.
Werf does not claim ownership over your websites or content.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Werf uses third-party AI services to generate website content.
- Generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for certain use cases
- You are responsible for reviewing and validating all generated content before publishing or using it
- Werf makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, legality, or fitness of AI-generated output.
7. Payments & Subscriptions
Werf offers paid subscription plans.
All payments are processed by Paddle, our third-party payment processor.
- Werf does not store credit card details
- Subscription status and billing references may be stored for account management
- Prices, billing intervals, and features may change over time.
8. Refund Policy
All payments for Werf are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.
14-Day Right of Cancellation
In accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms and applicable consumer protection laws, customers are entitled to a 14-day refund period starting from the date of purchase.
During this 14-day period, customers may request a full refund without providing a reason, unless an applicable legal exception applies (for example, where immediate digital access has been granted and the right of withdrawal has been waived in accordance with local law).
Subscriptions
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
Customers may cancel their subscription at any time through Paddle.
Refunds for unused subscription periods are not guaranteed outside of the 14-day refund window and are handled in accordance with Paddle's refund framework.
Refund Requests
Refunds must be requested directly through Paddle by:
- Using the refund link provided in the Paddle purchase receipt email, or
- Contacting Paddle Buyer Support with the order reference number.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method and processed by Paddle.
Exceptions & Abuse Prevention
Refund requests may be refused in cases of:
- Requests made outside the 14-day refund period
- Evidence of fraud, abuse, or repeated refund behavior
- Other situations where refunds are restricted under Paddle's Buyer Terms or applicable law

9. Availability & Changes
Werf is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee:
- Continuous availability
- Error-free operation
- That features will remain unchanged
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
10. Data & Account Deletion
Users may delete websites they create
Account deletion is not currently supported
Data may be retained indefinitely unless policies change
We may update data handling practices as Werf evolves.
11. Third-Party Services
Werf relies on third-party infrastructure and services, including:
- Google (authentication & AI)
- Supabase (data storage)
- Vercel (hosting)
- Paddle (payments)
We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party services.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Werf is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Werf is not responsible for loss of data, revenue, or business resulting from use of the service
Use Werf at your own risk.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Werf at any time if:
- These Terms are violated
- The service is misused
- Required for legal or security reasons
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
Continued use of Werf constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
